What is a Media Chair
Let us say you are living in a small flat. Through hard work, you saved enough money to buy the latest video game console. Now you want to hook up that console into a state-of-the-art home entertainment system. But because of the limited space of your flat, you cannot fit in a system that usually consists of a large TV, an amplifier, and several speakers. Well, do not worry because there is an alternative which allows you to save up space and money. Instead of a full-fledged entertainment system, you can opt for a media chair.
A media chair is not based on new technology. However, its design is something that is noteworthy. From the ground up, a media chair is designed to incorporate the amplifier, wiring, and speakers into one unit while giving you a comfortable sitting place. It is also designed so that game controllers will be within easy reach. In its most basic level, this unit comprises a couple of front speakers, rear speakers, a subwoofer, an amplifier, and inputs for other devices. More expensive units have extra speakers somewhere in the front or arms that feature gaming controls and transducers. When the chair is activated, the speakers produce high-quality sounds that you would hear in standard home entertainment systems.
Media chairs can come in all shapes and sizes. There are some that are shaped like race-car seats to enhance your experience if you are playing a race car game. Some are designed with a hardwood frame for a warm and classical look. Then there are some units that are not even chairs at all but mats with large pillows at the end where the speakers and other components are contained.
