Taking Care of Your Portable Playstation

Electronic gadgets such as the Portable Playstation (PSP) are surprisingly delicate items. One wrong move and your expensive investment can end up in the trash bin. To keep your PSP operating for years to come, you need to take heed of these simple steps. First, do not press the buttons or wrench the analogue controller forcefully. Remember that the pads are very sensitive; a gentle press is usually enough to generate a response. Pressing a button down harder than necessary only wears out the sensor below it. Next, turn of your PSP if you are not using it. When you turn it off, the system refreshes the memory and clears several caches, which results in a much faster, more efficient operation. Turning it on for a long time also drains the battery and produces extra heat that can damage the delicate electronics inside the casing.

Additionally, when using your PSP, do not lie on your tummy on the carpet or in front of an older tube-type television. These items can produce static electricity that can fry your unit’s electronic components. Also, do not eat while playing because bread crumbs can get into the casing and damage your unit. Most importantly, never forget that moisture is the number one enemy of all electronic gadgets. Thus, avoid getting your PSP wet and do not drink any beverage while using it.

Finally, keep your PSP neat and tidy. Regularly wipe it with a lint-less cloth to get rid of fingerprints, grease, and skin oil. If you need to use cleaning fluid to clean your PSP, make sure it is a mild one that is recommended by Sony. Furthermore, use a camel-hair blow brush, the one that photographers use, to clean off the dust.
